A former Attorney General, Martin Amidu, has expressed utter surprise at President J.E.A Mills for replacing him with Dr Benjamin Kumbour, whom he believes has a blot on his credibility.
Mr. Amidu, who was sacked for alleged “misconduct” was reacting to comments he claimed were made on Accra-based Radio Gold, alleging that he was fired over a case of conflict of interest.
According to him, a panelist had also alleged on the station’s show this morning that Kumbuor had the President’s confidence because of his integrity.
Preferring to rebut, Mr. Amidu cited a police report, adding the details of that report clearly show that Mr. Kumbuor is not as clean as perceived.
“They cannot compare me to Mr. Ben Kumbuor,” Mr. Amidu said. “I, as Interior Minister investigated Mr. Kumbuor; there is a full solid police report on him so how can the President tell me that after that report, he has more confidence in Mr. Kumbuor than me?”
